Our annual Perennial/Plant Sale took place at the usual location, the William’s Park pavilion in Antioch. Over 1000 perennials, annuals, fruit and vegetable plants were displayed atop the picnic tables, ready for purchase. There were gardening tools, containers, and books as well as a variety of home-baked treats made by Antioch Garden Club members.
The spring weather was a challenge this year, yet many members got digging early, prepared well, and brought healthy, established plants to share. Several buyers have told us how well our plants make the transfer into their gardens. That’s what gardening is all about!
Our proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to fund horticulture scholarships, Antioch Arbor Day trees, and the costs of maintaining 4 village public gardens. Thank you to all who supported our Sale. We hope to see you next year on Saturday, May 20th.
Another year and another successful Annual plan Sale event of Antioch Garden Club. The plant sale was held on Saturday, May 16th 10am - 1pm at the Williams Park Pavilion (behind Antioch Library). Hundreds of locally grown, healthy perennial plants were dug and donated from our club members' personal gardens. Home baked pies and sweets were quickly taken home by the public, many whom are repeat customers from the past. The proceeds goes towards Antioch Community Projects.
The next Annual Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 14th 2016, same place; same time. hope to see all the familiar faces and newcomers there!
